Mary McLeod Bethune — "She Started With $1.50" Tee
Description
In 1904, Mary McLeod Bethune started a school for Black girls in Daytona Beach, Florida, with $1.50 and five students. She made baked goods to raise funds. She used charred wood for pencils and crushed elderberries for ink. That school became Bethune-Cookman University. She went on to advise four presidents, found the National Council of Negro Women, and was the first Black woman to lead a federal agency. She built what did not exist because she decided it had to. "She Started With $1.50" is not just her story. It is the proof of what is possible when someone refuses to wait for permission.
Unisex fit, true to size, XS–5XL. 100% ring-spun cotton (heather colorways are a cotton/poly blend). See the size chart for measurements.
